INSTAGRAM PHOTO COMP

Kicking off on for June 2022 is the SMC Instagram Contest - a season-long hashtag-driven photo competition. The rules are simple, any photo hashtagged #snowymountainscaptured, taken in the NSW Snowy Mountains or Victorian High Country is in the running. Photos can be taken at any time but must be shared on Instagram between June 15th to September 15th. The categories are:

  • Action

  • Adventure

  • Nature

  • POW Peoples Choice. 

Each category will have one winner that will be picked by the category presenter and every winning entry goes in to win the major photo prize.

*Please don’t use carousel to show multiple pictures but post individually.

SHORT FILM FESTIVAL & COMPETITION

The short film comp and festival are open to all ages! We want to get people creating and sharing their adventures. Short films can be a street edits, a day-in-the-life or backcountry adventures for example. Short-listed entries will have their films played at a public film screening at events in Jindabyne and Bright. One winning clip will be chosen by a panel of judges and will follow special criteria.

How to enter:

  1. Entries will be accepted from June 10th 2022 - September 15th 2022

  2. Entries must be filmed in the NSW or Victorian Alpine Areas (summer or winter)

  3. Entries must be submitted to snowymountainscaptured@gmail.com

  4. Late, misdirected or incomprehensible entries will not be included. There are no exceptions for late entries. 

Short Film Rules

  1. Short films must be no less than 1 minute and no more than 5 minutes.

  2. Each entry must be original footage produced entirely by the entrant. It must contain no trademarks or copyright material owned in whole or in part by a third party or violate anyone's right of privacy. 

  3. Videos submitted as reels or shorts will not be accepted.

  4. Videos must be landscape.

  5. Entrants may be required to submit photos and small clips from their short film for promo purposes.

  6. Videos should not contain any drug, alcohol or nudity. That means no beers and no bums in any clips.

  7. Any music in the short films must be non-copyright, copyright-free or royalty-free. If it's on Spotify, you cant use it. 

  8. Entries that don't follow these rules will be disqualified from the competition. Organisers reserve the right, in their sole discretion to disqualify any individual who the presenter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions. 

  9. Judges will choose the winning short film based on its originality, storytelling ability and overall awesomeness.
